• Each accepted artwork will correspond to one of the exhibition themes.
• Artwork should be new or have been completed in the last three years.
• All submitted artwork must be original. No reproductions or AI-generated submissions will be accepted.
• All work should include title, dimensions and media.
• An artist statement is required.

• Please confirm that the submitted dimensions for your work are accurate for your ready-to-hang art.
• Dimensions must be accurate for the exhibition design team to plan the spacing of the installation.
• Your art should be ready to hang with hardware installed. (D-rings preferred instead of wire.)
• If the work is framed, the framed dimensions are needed. See image below for how to measure.
• All works on paper should be glazed, framed and ready to hang with hardware installed. (D-rings preferred instead of wire.)
• Two-dimensional framed artwork or textiles may not exceed 40” in any direction including frame.
• Three-dimensional, oversized or heavy work will be reviewed based on the museum’s gallery, safety and physical installation capabilities. The museum is not able to install works which hang from the ceiling.
• Artwork may not exceed 50 lbs.
• 42” monitors will be provided for video works. The Museum will be able to install projected works as well. Videos must meet ADA requirements, such as captioning of audio (additional details available upon request).
• Video works must be delivered in HEVC H.265 format at 30fps and audio files in WAV format. All artworks must be ready to exhibit/hang at time of delivery.

The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation will not be responsible for the preparation, mounting, framing or installation of hardware to any works of art. Work that is not ready to exhibit  on delivery will be eliminated from the showcase.

• Artists will submit a digital portfolio of all work in the exhibition using only JPEG files.
• Artists will submit a short one paragraph bio and/or artist statement in a PDF or Word document format. Artist statement and biography may be used for publishing purposes.
• JYF will install the artwork and accompanying label in the exhibition gallery. All two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang. JYF will not provide hardware for hanging.
• A signed W-9 form will be used to create a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the artist and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation outlining participation in the exhibition. A signed MOA will be required for processing of the $500 honorarium.
• Please note that any delays in submitting the artist W-9 and MOA by required deadlines may result in artwork not being included in the exhibition.

Delivery of artwork

• In person: Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of their works on the dates specified in the schedule below.
• Shipping: Artists are responsible for all costs of shipping. Work may not be shipped without prior approval from the museum, and must be packed in sturdy, reusable container(s). A return postage label must be included.

Exhibition location

• "Fresh Views of the American Revolution" will be held at American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, 200 Water St., Yorktown, VA 23690.  The exhibition will run from October 18, 2025 – May 8, 2026.
