Keynote address

Lorna Reeves, editor of TeaTime magazine will be the keynote speaker at this year's Tea Festival. She will share her tips and techniques for hosting the perfect tea party — from décor and menu choices to selecting and serving the best teas for an occasion.

Chocolate, tea and me

Join Mary Griffith from Fine Williamsburg Chocolates at a one-of-a-kind workshop as she discusses tea and chocolate's sweet history. Participants will choose a mold and make their own chocolates.

My signature tea

Explore the natural ingredients used in colonial tea blends, then get creative as you craft your own signature blend with Rowanne Stephenson of Serenity Homestead/Domestic Historian.

Steeped in history

Join historic interpreters at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown on a turn about the kitchen garden and discover what herbs make good tea substitutions when all of your tea is in the harbor. A tea-focused guide will lead you through the indoor exhibits as well.

End the day with former First Lady Martha Washington as we honor America’s 250th anniversary. Whether you're a longtime tea lover or just curious about colonial customs, this is a day steeped in flavor, history, and hospitality.

In partnership with the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission and Yorktown Commemoration Committee, the Yorktown Tea Festival aims to instill a sense of admiration for the history and traditions of tea and tea drinking in Virginia.

Immerse yourself in the world of tea as you sample unique blends, and learn about historic teas and herbal blends, as well as the culture and politics of tea on the eve of the American Revolution.

The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s days) and located on Route 1020 near the Colonial Parkway in Yorktown.
