Exclusive behind-the-scenes tour

JYF members are invited to step inside the historical clothing shop at Jamestown Settlement for an immersive experience with the apparel artists on the Experience Design team.

In this unique, hands-on program, you can pick up garments, feel fabrics, explore materials, and get an up-close look at the craftsmanship that brings 17th- and 18th-century Virginia to life.

You’ll discover how this skilled crew researches, designs and handcrafts the garments worn by more than 100 interpreters across our two museums — work that blends historical accuracy with the realities and challenges of 21st-century production. Learn how the team also collaborates with the exhibits and curatorial teams to create show-stopping pieces for special exhibitions and visual media.

It’s a chance to experience history in a way few ever do — right at the heart of where it’s made.
