November 28-29: Foods & Feasts of Colonial Virginia
Jamestown Settlement & American Revolution Museum at Yorktown
Long before microwaves, electric stoves and refrigerators, early Virginians prepared meals in clay pots and iron kettles and preserved food by smoking and salt curing. This Thanksgiving holiday, explore culinary practices and cooking techniques of the 17th and 18th centuries. Event included with museum admission.

American Revolution Museum at Yorktown
Discover new perspectives on the ideals and legacies of the American Revolution through the folk art of Oscar de Mejo created during the 1976 Bicentennial and through engaging community art. View more than a dozen original paintings of de Mejo’s work, including “The Declaration of Independence” (shown), as well as professional and student art reflecting on the meaning of freedom.
Through July 12, 2026: Following the Dragon: Chinese Ming Porcelain in Early Jamestown, Special Exhibit
Jamestown Settlement
Presented in partnership with the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation, this groundbreaking special exhibition explores compelling discoveries that connect the early years of the Jamestown colony and Asia. Featuring Chinese porcelain uncovered during excavations of 1607 James Fort at Historic Jamestowne and intact objects from global lenders, the exhibition examines who may have owned these evocative pieces, how they may have been acquired, and offers fresh insights into the social life of the early 17th-century Virginia elite. Daytime exhibit also accompanied by a Winter Lantern Festival (separate admission).
December 13: Candlelight Christmas
American Revolution Museum at Yorktown / 6-8 p.m.
Enjoy an evening of 18th-century Christmas cheer with a blend of modern traditions. Hear festive sounds of holidays past with music and caroling and see how soldiers and colonists may have prepared for a holiday evening. Children can meet Santa, make holiday crafts and decorate the lobby Christmas tree. Separate admission: $10 per child (ages 4-12), $7 per adult (ages 12+) and free for ages 3 and under.
December 20-31: Christmastide in Virginia
Jamestown Settlement & American Revolution Museum at Yorktown
Enjoy historical holiday fun with hands-on interpretive programs, cooking demonstrations and musical entertainment. At Jamestown Settlement, learn about the English tradition of the Lord of Misrule – “grand captain of all mischief” – at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Starting December 24, enjoy festive music at both 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Jamestown Settlement. At the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, enjoy the sounds of Christmas through traditional carols and music at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Event included with museum admission.
TICKET OPTIONS
There is a bounty of ticket options available to visit Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, including individual and value-saving combination tickets, as well as multi-day tickets with Williamsburg area attractions. Tickets – available online or in person at either museum – can also be packaged with modern-day accommodations.
Combination Ticket
A value-saving combination ticket to Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is $34.00 for adults, $17.00 for ages 6-12 and free for children ages 5 and under. When purchased online, it provides unlimited admission to each museum for seven consecutive days.
American Heritage Annual Pass
A great gift for the holidays, an annual pass to Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown with unlimited admission is $54.00 for adults, $27.00 for ages 6-12 and free for children ages 5 and under. The annual pass is valid for one year and includes daytime museum exhibits and special events. Online specials available for Virginia residents.
America’s Historic Triangle Ticket
Through December 31, a seven-day ticket that grants unlimited access to three historical attractions – Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement and American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and two National Park sites – Historic Jamestowne and Yorktown Battlefield. The ticket is $123.00 adults, $55.00 for ages 6-15.
Jamestown & Yorktown Four-Site Ticket
A seven-day ticket provides admission to Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown plus two National Park Service sites – Historic Jamestowne and Yorktown Battlefield. The ticket is $66.00 for adults, $39.00 for ages 13-15 and $22.00 for ages 6-12. Admission is free for ages 5 and under.
ABOUT THE MUSEUMS
Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Jamestown Settlement is located on 2110 Jamestown Road near the Colonial Parkway. The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is located on 200 Water Street in Yorktown. Museum shops and cafés open during museum hours.
